Job Description

As a Team Leader, Picker, you will be responsible for parts of the end-to-end fulfillment process for the US Warehouse. This role includes supervising staff, defining operational KPIs, and handling analytics and reporting. Team Leaders in the Distribution Center (DC) oversee various warehouse functions and act as team leads for warehouse picking operators. Operational Team Leaders are categorized into the following groups: Inbound, Picking, Outbound, E-commerce, and BOH/Fixtures. Specific task requirements are outlined for Administration and Stock Control.

Role Overview:

Picking and Product Movement

  • Efficiently pick orders from warehouse inventory based on provided pick lists or supervisor instructions.
  • Ensure accuracy in picking and packing orders to meet customer and retail store requirements.
  • Utilize hand-held devices and technology for inventory management.
  • Perform quality control checks to verify the condition of picked items.
  • Prepare orders for shipment by properly packing and labeling items.

Operations Management (Operational TLs)

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations within assigned areas.
  • Ensure efficient space utilization and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Implement and enforce warehouse policies and procedures.
  • Manage order fulfillment for online/B2C customer orders, returns, and exchanges.

Staff Supervision and Management (All TLs)

  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate warehouse staff.
  • Develop staff schedules and assign tasks to ensure smooth operations.
  • Foster a safe and collaborative working environment.
  • Manage and support the performance and growth of team members.

Compliance and Safety (All TLs)

  • Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and implement safety programs.
  • Maintain security protocols to protect warehouse assets.
  • Ensure the safe operation of the distribution center and address compliance requirements.

Inventory Control (Stock Control TLs)

  • Monitor inventory levels and perform regular stock checks.
  • Manage stock takes and stock reconciliations.
  • Implement procedures to minimize inventory discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with Merchandise and Loss Prevention teams to manage stock effectively.
  • Manage DC consumables (e.g., packaging, labels, stationery) and ensure timely reordering.

Logistics Coordination (Operational TLs)

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics with suppliers, transport companies, and customers.
  • Optimize transportation routes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure timely delivery and distribution of goods.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with outbound 3PLs and carriers.

Quality Control (All TLs)

  • Maintain quality standards for incoming and outgoing goods.
  • Address and resolve quality issues or discrepancies.
  • Implement quality assurance processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with accurate picking and well-packaged deliveries.

Budget Management (Admin TL)

  • Prepare and manage daily statistics boards to track variable and fixed costs.
  • Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Assist with or negotiate contracts with suppliers and service providers.

Analytics and Reporting (All TLs)

  • Prepare regular performance reports, including KPIs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of warehouse activities.
  • Report issues or discrepancies to senior management.
  • Accountable for operational analytics, SLA adherence, sales and order forecasts, and cost-related metrics.
  • Provide commercial reporting and continuously drive down the cost to serve.

Continuous Improvement & Process Management (All TLs)

  • Ensure the creation and updating of all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Drive continuous improvement through process optimization and cost reduction.
  • Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager to schedule Gemba walks.

Customer Service (Admin TL)

  • Collaborate with customer service teams to meet requirements.
  • Address customer service issues efficiently using tools like Zendesk.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by meeting DIFOT (Delivery in Full, On Time) standards.

Safety & Risk Management (All TLs)

  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Implement security measures to protect assets.
  • Maintain clean and safe work environments.
  • Report and address safety incidents promptly.
  • Conduct safety audits regularly.

Additional Requirements (All TLs)

  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and respect for local customs.
  • Language proficiency in Malay and English preferred; additional languages are beneficial.
  • Stay updated on US laws and regulations related to warehousing, labor, and trade.
