The John Michael Kohler Arts Center (Sheboygan, WI) is seeking a seasonal, part-time Visitor Experience Associate - Level 1, with a retail emphasis.    

The purpose of this role is to provide patrons with a positive memorable experience while viewing galleries, learning about artists, shopping, and enjoying food and beverage.  The Visitor Services Associate Level 1 is an entry level position and will be trained in the responsibilities of reception and retail across the John Michael Kohler Arts Center (JMKAC), Art Preserve (AP) and associated locations. This position is the front line of our public interaction.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  1. Greet and welcome visitors to the JMKAC Art Center and Art Preserve. 

  1. Answer inquiries via phone, in person and email regarding JMKAC products. 

  1. Educate Visitors about services, amenities, public programming, and educational opportunities. 

  1. Document visitor information in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. 

  1. Sell tickets, camps, classes, memberships, preschool tuition, alcoholic beverages and merchandise utilizing CRM and Point of Sale (POS) systems.

  1. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent 

  • Valid Driver’s License 

  • Maintain and/or obtain State of Wisconsin Bartending License

Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Able to deal with problems involving few concrete variables in standard situations. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, balance, and reconcile figures, punctuate properly, and spell correctly.

The position is art gallery based and noise level usually moderate.  May occasionally work inside or outside at events where noise level could be moderate to loud.   

The Arts Center operates 6 days a week (Tuesday through Sunday).  This position must be available to work during operating hours, which includes daytime and occasional evening hours as well as at least 2 weekends a month.     

The position works at various locations depending on the schedule.  This position must be able to commute between locations if needed. This seasonal position will be held from July through end of September.
