The Wildland Fire Program, an Extension and Engagement program within the College of Forestry is seeking a Hands on the Land Project Coordinator. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE ), 12-month, professional faculty position.
This position is funded for one year and is dependent on continued funding through an obligated five-year federal grant. This position provides essential management, partnership, and outreach functions to a large integrated project focused on workforce equity and climate adaptation in the forested U.S. Northwest. It requires collaboration with diverse teams of researchers, extension faculty, and partners from community-based organizations. The position is responsible for developing and maintaining processes for project management and evaluation; and supporting a culturally respectful project environment for effective communication among diverse collaborators around the Northwest. The position also helps implement Extension education and technical assistance programming.The Hands on the Land project serves forest/wildland fire workers, businesses, community-based organizations, managers, and academic faculty through educational programming, peer learning, and application of interdisciplinary research findings. The project vision is to support a regional coalition of diverse partners who together seek safe, equitable, and sustainable workforce development by sharing knowledge and strategies around systemic and new solutions. Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty):
Typically requires Bachelor's Degree in field relevant to program focus. May require certification or licensure as appropriate to the position.

This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.
