Job Description
The Entertainment Audio Technician is responsible for the programming and troubleshooting of all audio/visual systems at Ocean Casino Resort.
Position Responsibilities
- Performs, but not limited to, the following: maintain audio levels, setup, operation, strike, install, inventory, and maintenance of all types of audio equipment used in hotel and casino.
- Performs additional duties as required by the Department.
Essential Functions
- Performs set up and installs equipment such as microphones, speakers, recording equipment, connecting wires, cables and audio mixing consoles for events and functions such as concerts, sports events, meetings and conventions, presentations, and conferences
- Mixes and routes audio, using a strong working knowledge of digital audio routing and proficiency in mixing consoles. Will instruct and demonstrate usage of audio equipment.
- Interprets artist rider and specifications to adequately prepare for live events. This includes but not limited to setting up live events per schematics including the construction of staging, set up, installation, back line, drum kits, amplifiers, monitors, percussions, keyboards, drum pads, microphones, etc.
- Tracks and maintains inventory of equipment at all times
- Supports performing all necessary maintenance and repairs of all equipment and expedites maintenance issues as necessary to appropriate service vendors. Executes preventative maintenance programs and procedures, as assigned
- Cleans and sanitizes Audio Visual equipment and stores properly after use.
- Maintains knowledge of mixing technologies/equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
- Knowledge using standard software programs such as: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Exposure to casino related environmental factors including but not limited to secondhand smoke, excessive noise and hectic environments.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts and/or unusual hours
- Lift and/or carry equipment, scenery or supplies weighing up to 75 pounds
- Climb a ladder or stairs
- Work at heights up to 50’ above the ground
- Drive a scissor lift
- Sit, stand, or walk for an entire shift, depending upon needs.
- Manipulate an electric saw, hammer, drill, screwdriver, pliers, wrenches, soldering irons, wire strippers and other hand tools.
- Able to work around loudspeakers, hazer and smoke machines, electricity and paint
- Communicate via telephone, radio and headset intercom system
- Bend and/or reach from ground level up to 6’ high
- Crawl 5 to 10 feet in order to get scenery setup up.
- Kneel to set up scenery
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Previous experience in performing the overall load in, strike, inventory and maintenance of all types of audio, lighting, musical and stage equipment used in all entertainment areas required
