WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
This position provides leadership and oversight to multiple academic coaches within Baylor University's Student-Athlete Center for Excellence. This person will oversee the team that provides comprehensive academic support to football student-athletes through academic coaching, coordinating support & graduation plans and monitoring continuing eligibility. Direct reports will also provide support to an Olympic sport team or teams.
Required Qualification s: Completion of Master's degree. Excellent oral and interpersonal communication, analytical, and writing skills. Excellent computer (Microsoft Office) skills. Experience leading & supervising within revenue generating sports. Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends.
Applications must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Provide general oversight to the academic support team for football including serving as the main point of contact for all department-wide football academic related matters
Assist with weekly football academic administrative tasks as needed
Provide support, mentorship and growth opportunities to direct reports
Support student-athletes through personal academic and career advising
Track course progress, adjust support plans and monitor NCAA eligibility
Serve on the SACE Leadership Team to provide oversight to all areas withing SACE
Perform other duties as assigned
Meet with prospective student-athletes and their families during the recruiting process
Successfully engage with a wide range of constituents including student-athletes, coaches, athletics staff and administrators, faculty and campus partners is essential
Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
Ability to comply with University policies
Maintain regular and punctual attendance
