Summary

As a Director of Accountant, you will play a critical role in managing the company’s financial health, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and optimizing financial processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, support month-end closing, and provide insights to enhance decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP/IFRS standards.
• Month-End & Year-End Close: Oversee and execute the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Revenue Recognition: Ensure accurate SaaS revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606 (or IFRS 15), including deferred revenue management.
• Accounts Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and key balance sheet accounts.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in preparing and monitoring budgets, financial projections, and cash flow statements.
• Tax & Compliance: Work with external auditors and tax consultants to ensure regulatory compliance (sales tax, VAT/GST, income tax, etc.).
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, automation, and internal controls.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Finance, Operations, and Product teams to support strategic decision-making.
• Qualifications & Experience:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CA, or CMA preferred).
• Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and SaaS-specific financial principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, or Sage Intacct).
• Experience with subscription billing platforms (e.g., Stripe, Chargebee, or Zuora) is a plus.
• Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Experience

• 5-8 years of accounting experience, preferably in a SaaS or tech company.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Corporate Accountant
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and practices
• In-depth experience in risk analysis, budgeting and forecasting
• Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and finance software
• An analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
• Excellent communication skills
• Keen eye for detail
• Organizational and leadership skills
• BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus
