INTRODUCTION
The State of Connecticut, UConn Library is seeking applications for a Buildings & Grounds Patrol Officer to join a dedicated team that serves and supports the UConn community in its use of Library facilities and services at the Storrs campus. The State of Connecticut, University of Connecticut Library Buildings & Grounds Officer is under the general direction and reports to the Head of Facilities & Security, the Buildings & Grounds Officer will enforce the facilities and environmental policies of the UConn Library as mandated by the Library Administration to maintain an environment that is conducive to an academic setting. The incumbent is responsible for being familiar with the University of Connecticut regulations and Connecticut State Laws to maintain a degree of safety in the Homer Babbidge Library.
This position is categorized as Emergency Support Services/Essential Staff. The individual in this role must be willing to work during emergency closures/delayed openings due to inclement weather or for significant events that affect campus operations. Applicants must also be willing to respond to emergencies on overtime (nights, weekends, holidays). The schedule for this position is listed below, with an hourly rate of $23.88, which is non-negotiable. Please note, that effective June 28, 2024, the hourly rate is increasing to $24.48.

Academic Schedule: Mon. – Weds. 8:00PM-2:30AM, Sat. 9:30AM-4:00PM, Sun. 6:30PM-2:30AM (34 hrs./wk.)
Non-Academic Hours: Mon. – Weds. 3:30PM-9:30PM, Sat. 10:00AM-6:30PM, Sun. 11:00AM-6:30PM (34 hrs./wk.)
