Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and empathetic Personal Injury Protection (PIP) Claims Adjuster to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and adjudicating PIP claims related to auto insurance in Utah, ensuring that claimants receive appropriate benefits within the statutory time limits, and in accordance with policy provisions and state regulations. This role will also be responsible for sending subrogation demands to at-fault parties/carriers and following up to completion.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Claims Management: Review, investigate, and process PIP claims related to personal injuries resulting from automobile accidents. Ensure all claims are handled in a timely and efficient manner.
- Investigation: Gather and analyze relevant documentation, including medical reports, accident reports, and policy details. Interview claimants, witnesses, and medical professionals as needed.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Determine the validity of claims by evaluating the extent of injuries, treatment plans, and related expenses. Assess coverage and calculate appropriate benefit amounts in accordance with policy terms and legal requirements.
- Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with claimants, legal representatives, medical providers, and other stakeholders. Provide updates and explanations regarding claim status, benefit eligibility, and any necessary documentation.
- Compliance: Ensure all claims processing adheres to state regulations, company policies, and industry best practices. Stay informed about changes in legislation and adjust procedures accordingly.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all claims activities, including correspondence, decisions, and settlements. Prepare reports and documentation as required.
- Resolution: Negotiate settlements and resolve disputes between claimants and the insurance company. Facilitate mediation or arbitration if necessary to achieve fair outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS - Must have handled PIP claims for auto insurance company.
- Familiarity with adjusting auto Property Damage claims a plus!
- Capability to train and perform the job remotely & meet our work from home requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in using claims management software and other relevant tools.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Salary Range : Position starts at $45,000 - $50,000 a year DOE.
