Position Overview: Assistant Controller
As the Assistant Controller, you will oversee the accounting department with a focus on ensuring accurate and timely financial statements and reporting. Your role will include establishing and enforcing accounting processes, policies, and controls, while providing support to the Accounting team as needed.
Specific Roles & Responsibilities:
Manage timely month-end close procedures and review reconciliations
Support acquisition integration and purchase accounting efforts
Develop processes to support international business growth
Ensure compliance with state and local tax requirements
Assist with year-end audit activities and manage auditor correspondence
Maintain and develop accounting policies and processes
Foster staff development through performance management and training
Conduct ad hoc analysis and projects as required
Occasional domestic travel for team and company meetings
Qualifications:
7+ years of progressive accounting experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
CPA license required; public accounting experience preferred
Strong communication and leadership skills
Experience with international operations and acquisition integrations
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, etc.)
Experience with NetSuite (preferred)
Curiosity and proactive problem-solving ability
