The College of the Arts and Media is seeking a full time Assistant Professor of Arts Administration to help build a new undergraduate Arts Administration program at CMU , an interdisciplinary program that will expand the skills of current students across the college and university. The successful candidate will be an individual that demonstrates enthusiasm for educating the future generation of Arts Administrators and prepares students for careers in the administration and management of arts programs, organizations, foundations, and arts-related industries and companies.

The College of the Arts and Media consists of four units: The Department of Art and Design, The Department of Theatre and Dance, The School of Communication, Journalism, and Media, and the School of Music. The college offers undergraduate programs in Animation, Art History, Graphic Design, Studio Art, Acting and Directing, Musical Theatre, Technical Theatre, Dance Studies, Advertising, Communication, Integrative Public Relations, Journalism, Media Arts, Photojournalism, Cinema Studies, Music Performance, Commercial Music, Theory and Composition, and Music Education. We also offer graduate programs in Communication, Media Arts and Music.
The Arts Administration program at CMU is well positioned to provide areas of collaboration in curricular offerings and research across the college. The range of faculty expertise is broad, and many faculty have expertise in various sectors of Arts Administration including practical experience and scholarly research in this discipline. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to create, teach, and lead this program in Arts Administration and its direct application to Arts Administration educational programs and scholarship across the college.
