Our client, a faith-based organization, located North of Nashville; is in need of a contract-to-hire
Accounting Manager . Their ideal candidate will possess a CPA license and is accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment. This role will have two direct reports, manage the close process and coordinate audits on an annual basis. The pay range for this role is $40-$45 per hour. This position is hybrid after 6 months 100% onsite.
Accounting Manager Responsibilities: - Prepare financial statements in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Oversee the entire month-end close process, ensuring the accuracy of journal entries and General Ledger reconciliations
- Support timely completion of quarterly reviews and year-end audits by external auditors, including preparing and reviewing supporting schedules and documentation
- Ensure department budgets are submitted on time and assist with the preparation of the annual budget
- Contribute to special projects and workflow process improvements within the organization
- Review and evaluate organizational policies and procedures related to accounting and reporting systems, providing recommendations for enhancements as needed
- Assist in analyzing monthly departmental and organizational forecasts
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Accounting Manager Requirements: - Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- 5+ years of experience with a strong focus on month-end close and accounting processes; experience in non-profit accounting is a plus
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles
- Prior experience as an Accounting Manager , preferably in a non-profit organization, or 2+ years in a supervisory role with proven ability to lead and manage an accounting team while driving continuous process improvement
- Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, coupled with solid interpersonal abilities
- Proficient in Peachtree and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
- Previous experience in banking, financial services or related fields is advantageous
- Understanding of common banking practices

- Ability to perform well under pressure
